Sictur and Intelitur are information systems created to strengthen the leadership of Spain in the field of tourism. The former depends on the SGT and the latter, on the Chambers of Commerce. Now, with the incorporation of Sictur to Intelitur a new strengthening is expected that, according to its promoters, “will allow increased efficiency in decision making and in generating a process of exchange between the actors of businesses, the Government, universities, and R+D+I centres”. In short, its purpose is to create an active network around science, technology and innovation in the field of tourism.

The UdG, committed to research in tourism

The University of Girona is part of Red-Intur and is particularly involved in this new initiative, precisely because knowledge in tourism is one of the pillars of the Campus of International Excellence recognition recently granted to it. The agreement signed will ensure permanent maintenance and updating of Sictur contents with regard to its centres, research groups, lines of work and the projects they develop.
