UdG is the first public and presential university to organize a TEDx in Spain

Girona is the first public and presential university in Spain that has been given the license for an event TEDx, a brand known worldwide that provides the hosting institution a great international projection. The ‘x’ means that the event is a local program that brings people together to share a TED-like experience.

The University of Girona will hold its TEDx experience on the 10th of May, in the auditorium Narcís Monturiol of the Science and Technology Park. Talks at TEDxUdG will be related to the areas of the Campus of International Excellence: water, tourism, chemicals, ICT health, cultural heritage and robotics, amongst others. The speakers will be relevant UdG researchers.

A TEDx event is a very special one. It is an annual meeting that brings together the leading thinkers and doers to share ideas that matter in any discipline and, so, inspire people to change their lives, their futures and ultimately their world. TEDx was born in California and has had speakers like Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Frank Gehry and Philippe Starck.

Under the TED’s spirit of “Ideas Worth Spreading”, TEDxUdG has its own tagline “Swell People and Ideas, Enhanced University”. TEDxUdG talks will be recorded and spread on TED’s website and also live on streaming on
