TSL – Tourism Sustainability Line

The objective of this line is to promote the research conducted in the Tourism and Environmental Sustainability Lines. Both at the UIB and the UdG the excellence in this line is shown by the fact there are 23 research groups of excellence1 and 5 university institutes, one joint with the CSIC and another with the INIA, which work on related topics. At the UIB the most significant are the Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (IMEDEA) and the Economic Research Centre (CRE), to which we can add the recently created Agro-Environmental and Water Economy Research Institute (INAGEA), a joint institute participated by the Spanish Agrarian and Food Research and Technology Institute (INIA), the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands and the UIB. At the UdG the following university institutes stand out: The Higher Institute of Tourism Studies (INSETUR) and the Catalan Institute for Research into Cultural Heritage (ICRPC), the latter included in the Research Centres of Catalonia (CERCA) network, and in which the UdG takes part.

Below, we indicate the main key internal resources of the e-MTA Campus showing the strength of the Tourism Sustainability Line. Section 2.5 (Planned Associations) includes a list of the players reinforcing these strengths and completing the key resources related to knowledge transfer.
