The Water Campus, the innovation ecosystem of the water sector

On May 5 took place the public presentation of the Water Campus to the water sector stakeholders. The event was held in the Scientific and Technological Park of the University of Girona.

The current economic and social situation is marked by intense factors of change and for deep challenges, which define a high level of complexity and competitiveness for companies. Facing this environment, and since it has happened in other big periods of historical transformation, the society capability to innovate is the source of productivity, differentiation and value for progress and well-being.

The nexus between science and market is the key factor of innovation, understood as the practical application of the technological development and the knowledge in order to solve the social needs. It is the gear that turns technology and knowledge into useful and productive value.

Aware of the strategic value of innovation and of the needed link between science and market, the University of Girona proposes to encourage the collaboration between companies and entities of the same activity sector. As a result, the Water Campus is chosen instrument to facilitate this forum of meeting in the water sector.
