The University of Girona organizes the annual meeting of the EMTM (European Master in Tourism Management) Consortium

The meeting, which took place at the Faculty of Tourism on the 11 and 12 November, was attended by representatives of the EACEA European Agency, Ljubljana University and Syddansk University (University of Southern Denmark).

Several representatives of the EACEA European Agency, managing body of the Erasmus Mundus program, visited the University of Girona to attend the annual meeting of the EMTM (European Master in Tourism Management) Consortium, which this year has been organized by UdG, acting as coordinating university.

EACEA representatives make a single visit to each coordinating university after this receives the Erasmus Mundus award. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the other partner universities of the Consortium, Ljubljana University (Slovenia) and Syddansk University (Denmark).

Dr. Jaume Guide, director of the Consortium, considers the outcome of the meeting to be very positive, and highlights the fact that this will be one of the first master’s degrees where students will get a joint master’s degree qualification from three universities.

In Catalonia only two universities coordinate Erasmus Mundus master’s degree programs: UPC and the University of Girona (eleven in the whole of Spain). This year the fifth class of students has started the EMTM program, including 31 students from 22 different nationalities. The EMTM is also the only Erasmus Mundus master’s degree program in Tourism Management, among the 135 that are offered in total.
