The UdG research group, LEQUIA, co-organizer of the WATERMATEX 2011 symposium

The Laboratory of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, LEQUIA, together with the Centre of Studies and Technical Research of Guipuzkoa, CEIT, is organizing the WATERMATEX 2011, aimed at reconsidering the use of models and computer tools to support decision making in the field of water treatment.

Since its origins, the WATERMATEX has focused on promoting a wide spectrum of computer applications designed for solving problems in water treatment and sanitation. Throughout the various symposiums, new methodological approaches have been presented and discussed that have improved mathematical modelling and identification, optimization, monitoring and control processes, decision support systems, softwares, etc., always focused on analysing water treatment and sanitation systems in a broad sense, including drinking and irrigation water, surface and ground water, and natural and technical systems.

Presence of LEGUIA UdG

As for the scientific contributions of LEQUIA, the UdG research group is taking part in it with Assessment of CFD and biological modelling with a multiphase Euler-Euler model for an annamox reactor, by Albert Vilà. In addition, Dr. Ignasi Rodríguez-Roda and Dr. Joaquim Comas are part of the organizing committee and Dr. Manuel Poch, director of LEQUIA, is part of the scientific committee.
