The Medal of the Royal Spanish Physical Society awarded to Maxi San Miguel, director of IFISC (CSIC-UIB)

Prof. Maxi San Miguel, Professor of Condensed Matter Physics, University of the Balearic Islands and director of the Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems (IFISC, CSIC-UIB) has been awarded the Medal of the Royal Spanish Physical Society, in recognition of his scientific career and research activities.

This prize was awarded jointly by the Royal Spanish Physical Society and the BBVA Foundation, and the cerimony took place at the BBVA Foundation headquarters in Madrid. The event was chaired by Secretary of State for Research, Felipe Pétriz, and was attended by the president of the Fundación BBVA, Francisco González, and the president of the Royal Spanish Physical Society, María del Rosario Heras. The event brought together leading representatives from the scientific community and the worlds of culture and enterprise. The rector of the UIB, Dr. Montserrat Casas, also attended the event.
