The International Max Planck Research School gathers international PhD students in Palma

max planckThe Third Week of Conferences of the International Max Planck Research School on Gravitational Wave Astronomy gathers in Palma about 20 international doctoral students who will participate until November 4th in this scientific meeting. The meeting has the support of the Department of Physics at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB).The week of conferences is part of the curriculum of PhD students in astronomy of gravitational waves at the Albert Einstein Institute. They are held three times a year, and include courses on general relativity, numerical relativity and theoretical astrophysics, statistical and data analysis, and other fields of experimental physics of gravitational waves.

A boost for the e-MTA Campus International Doctoral School

One of the key actions of the e-MTA Campus is the creation of a joint International Doctoral School of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and University of Gerona (UdG), with two main research lines. On the one hand, the line of Physics, Computation, and Applications, with the support of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Max Planck Society, and, on the other hand, the line for Tourism Sustainability and Water, which will be developed with support of the universities that make up the PRES-PM (UIB, UdG, Perpingan-Via Domitia and Paris VI), the CSIC and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

As part of the line in Physics, Computation, and Applications, the International Max Planck Research School has chosen Palma to host the Third Week of Conferences of the International Max Planck Research School on Gravitational Wave Astronomy.
