The Government of the Balearic Islands has authorized the debt for the execution of the INNOCAMPUS program

The University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) submitted a project to the INNOCAMPUS call after passing the first phase of the 2010 Campus of Excellence call. The project, ranked sixth among all those submitted, received a grant of 5 million euros in the form of credit by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, of which 4,800,000 will be allocated to the construction of the Center for Postgraduate Studies and 200,000 for the maintenance and creation new patents and licenses.Once approved by the Governing Council of the University, the Social Council of the UIB, agreed at the meeting of December 20th, 2010 to ask the Government of the Balearic Islands authorization for the debt operation, which was denied.

Finally, on January 4, 2012, the current Government of the Balearic Islands has authorized the transaction, which will permit the implementation of the project and will improve the University of the Balearic Islands.
