Strategic plans are at risk of falling into an evil spiral by themselves. This campus aims to create synergies with the business sector in a pragmatic way so that what happens here will depend largely on business sector future competitiveness.

Joaquim Nadal, Professor of the University of Girona and former Minister of the Government of Catalonia.

We are facing to a whole innovative perspective on the tourism world. People is looking for something different, interesting a new scope… We dive into the philosophy of tourism.

Dolors Vidal, Faculty of Tourism Dean at the University of Girona.

This is the first time that the two things go together: economic growth and excellence of the university. Excellence of knowledge, interaction with SMEs and social sectors. Campus is a territorial concept, a campus is knowledge and excellence, and internationalisation, nothing related with edogamic processes. When this crisis will end, this strategic plan and the dialogue embedded for sure will allow us to be better positioned.

Marius Rubiralta, “la Caixa”  Foundation’s University Campus and Economic Growth project director.

Tourism is one of the industries that can output gap in unemployment we have. The campus began with the south of France region, which is a staple, as long as Girona is the perfect hinge of the northern Mediterranean area .

Marina Geli, Member of Parliament of Catalonia and former Minister of the Government of Catalonia.

This is a project focusing on excellence. Girona, together with the Balearic Islands, have chosen in which elements is excellent, or maybe it, that will mean to be a spot in the international map.

Josep Huguet, former Minister of the Government of Catalonia.

This strategic plan stems from a joint reflection between university and companies, representing a step forward. This can help to save the gap in the curve that separates the university results from the market.

Miquel Deyà, General Director of Universities, Research and Knowledge Transfer of the Balearic Government.

At this time when we should be in constant adaptation, this strategic plan presents a wider perception that focuses on two pillars that are of fundamental importance, water and tourism. This is a good starting point from which new research lines and technology transfer areas, that this country is in need, will be identified.

Felip Puig, Minister for Enterprise and Employment of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
