Photography contest as part of the “Water Shapes” European project


As part of the European cultural project “WATER SHAPES. Meanings, uses and architectural works related to the most precious gift” in which the Archaeology Laboratory of the Institute of Historical Research of the University of Girona (UdG) is participating, a photography contest has been organized that is open to everyone of age (18 or older).

The contest is aimed at stimulating the public in the understandings of cultural heritage that is linked to the use of water, in order to preserve them and appreciate its various aspects, such as symbolic references, traditional uses architecture inspired by the daily needs of its exploitation.

Therefore, the photos submitted to the contest should be exclusively of devices and works related to water that are located in one of the countries of origin of the project’s partners, that is Italy, France, Portugal and Spain.

Each contestant may submit a maximum of three photos on this topic. The contest itself began on the 28th October and will end on the 28th January. Contestants should upload their photos on the website indicated in the contest rules, which can be found on the UdG website -in the section of the Laboratory of Archaeology and Prehistory of the Institute of Historical Research- or on the project’s website www.watershapes.eu.
