Over two hundred people participate in the Conference on ICT-Health

Over two hundred people are participating from yesterday until today at the Science and Technology Park in Girona, in a Catalan meeting that aims to approach the supply of ICT to the needs of healthcare institutions, to identify key trends in this sector and to show new cases of innovation in the territory.

This conference offers twenty presentations in form the round tables and fifteen communication capsules that allow to get a glimpse of emerging projects. The emerging projects include, among others, digital operating rooms, which allow medical imaging to be used not only as a diagnostic tool, but also to provides a virtual model of the patient on which interventions can be planned and carried out, and the artificial pancreas, a new system of automatic control of insulin infusion with a view to improving the quality of life of diabetic patients.
The meeting is organized around three themes: ICT in improving the quality of life of older people, ICT in healthcare practice, and ICT in the service of citizens and the co-responsibility in health. The sessions are organized by the UdG, supported ICT-Health Foundation and the collaboration of the French agency Ubifrance.
