Nine doctoral programs at the UIB gain the Mention to Excellence recognition

alumnes uibNine doctoral programs at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) have obtained the Mention to Excellence in the first resolution of the Spanish Ministry of Education call awarding these mentions. The mentions are issued by the General Secretariat of Universities considering the technical assessment by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) in order to recognize the training solvency of doctoral programs in Spanish universities, as well as research groups and departments dealing with the training of doctors.The programs that have received the Mention to Excellence are Physics, Science and Chemical Technology, Economics of Tourism and Environment, Neuroscience, Plants Biology, Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology, Electronic Engineering (coordinated by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia), Human Nutrition (coordinated by the University of Granada), and Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling (with 12 universities and coordinated by the Autonomous University of Madrid).

The Mention to Excellence is valid for the academic years 2011-2012, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, provided positive annual monitoring is reported by ANECA.
