Jaume Ferrer: “Projects like e-MTA Campus are key”

“In the name of the Formentera Island Council and in the name of all citizens of the island, I want to give our full support to the University of the Balearic Islands in the Euro-Mediterranean Tourism and Water Campus project

It is not necessary to insist that the 21st century is full of economic, social and environmental issues. In this sense, our island, with a differentiated model in many aspects of natural resources and tourism management, cannot fail to promote those projects working on the improvement of tourism sustainability and, in this case, the key issue of water management. Our future as a community and our direct responsibility for maintaining the delicate balance between natural assets and economic sustainability depends on convincing, educating and engaging citizens on the idea this is not only our future but theirs as well.

This is the reason why projects like the Euro-Mediterranean Tourism and Water Campus, born with the spirit of bringing the academic, scientific, bussiness and governmental worlds together are key to push forward our common aim, which is none other than the wellness of our generation and the next.”

President of the Formentera Island Council
