Girona University participates in a university employment network of Euro-Mediterranean and South Atlantic

The network, called Uniporta11, aims to share experiences between universities  in matters of university and  employment, bringing together institutions of Euro-Mediterranean area and peripheral areas.

With the aim of enhancing the employability of graduates, the University of Huelva, through the Employment Service (SOIPEA) of the Vice-Presidence for Students, Employment and Enterprise, has launched a network of Euro-Mediterranean and South-Atlantic universities, integrated by Spanish en Euromediterranean universities and institutions that are geographically near and tha share socioeconomic and cultural traits. The project, called Uniporta11, is part of the program Euroempleo of the  Andalusian Employment Service with a view to promoting activities of transnational cooperation and interregional employment.

The University of Huelva, as a promoter and coordinator of this network, counts with the collaboration of the following national universities as partners: Vigo, Girona, Las Palmas and the Foundation University-Enterprise of the Balearic Islands, in addition to European universities of the Algarve, Madeira, Perpignan, Trieste, Ferrara and Bologna AlmaLaurea Interuniversity Consortium.

Uniporta11, created by web 2.0 tools, aims to enhance good practices and to promote employability and self-employment, but also to add value to the other project partners and create synergies, the results of which should be transferred to the society, thus complementing existing policy initiatives in employment and supporting the most disadvantaged.

The project’s objectives also include the development of a universal resource map for employability and for promoting entrepreneurship in peripheral European contexts. In the same way, this network is intended to respond to the requirements of EEES and of the European Employment Strategy by linking more clearly linking the educational processes to the labor market through the modernization of Employment Services. On the other hand, it also aims at fostering the European mobility of students and recent graduates with entrepreneurial vocation, to foster self-employment in the university community, by creating a portfolio of business opportunities, and developing a research on different areas of collaboration between universities and related public employment services.

With the designation of Uniporta11 to this project, it is intended to represent a common feature of different local environments that integrate this network is “our calling port of embarkation and disembarkation of innovative ideas, and the transboundary nature that makes us a gateway from different cultures, languages ??and ways of being and acting. “
