iii. Proposed actions

The following basic actions are planned in order to achieve the previous goals and directly coincide with the improvement in teaching quality and adaptation to the EHEA:

  • A.C.4, Actions to adapt to the EHEA
  • A.C.5, Training collaboration networks
  • A.C.7, Vertical curricula
  • A.G.1, International House
  • A.G.2, Tourism Faculty
  • B.C.1, Satellite Project (headhunting)
  • B.C.3, Laboratory sustainability audit
  • B.C.9, Excellence professorships
  • B.C.10, Activating innovation ecosystems and specialisation lines
  • C.C.7, Examination technologies and electrical connection of the first rows of the lecture rooms

Through all the proposed actions within this scope, a set of indicators will be improved as defined in Appendix 2. Although its is difficult to directly relate action with the specific improvement of an indicator, since it is the whole work that will provide the desired impact, it is indeed possible to approximately calculate some of the proposed goals.

Therefore, actions such as International House (A.G.1), The International PhD School (A.C.3), The Exterior Promotion Programmer (C.C.10), Excellence Professorships (B.C.9) or the Satellite Project (B.C.1), among other actions, must ensure that the international impact of the Campus is significantly improved. Therefore, of 20%-30% foreign students enrolled in master’s and PhD programmes at present, 40%-50% of them should be involved at 2016. All this leads to increasing the 66 foreign lecturers with minimum stays of 3 months a year to about 150, increasing the percentage of PhDs with quality award of the current 50% to 100% planned for 2015.

Moreover, essential infrastructures such as the Postgrad Study Centre (AVANZA) (A.B.2), el Learning Centre (A.B.3), or the Tourism Faculty (A.G.2); but in particular the progress in creating the PRES-PM cross-border group (A.C.1) and the training collaboration networks (A.C.5), must lead to more joint or multiple trans-national degrees than the 5 current ones of 14 planned for 2016, considerably increase the number of credits for the master’s degree in English from the current 600 to about 1.000 and the inter-university postgrads must be increased 50%.
