Europe awards a project focusing on Water close-loop involving industry, RTOs, and policy-makers experts from 7 countries.

The aim of demEAUmed, a demonstration project related to the Campus e-MTA, is the involvement of industry representatives, stakeholders, policy-makers and diverse technical and scientific experts in demonstrating and promoting innovative technologies, for an optimal and safe closed water cycle in Euro-Mediterranean tourist facilities, leading to their eventual market uptake. Hotel Samba (Lloret de Mar) will be the representative DEMO site, where part of all inlet and outlet waters will be characterised, treated with proper innovative technologies, and reused to reduce the carbon footprint of water management in an integrated approach at demonstration level.

The study of the economic impact of tourism in Barcelona is awarded to a team of researchers from the University of Girona, led by eMTA Campus.

The City Council has awarded a research team composed of professors from the Faculty of Tourism and Communication and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, led by eMTA Campus in Tourism and Water, to conduct the study of the economic impact of tourism in Barcelona, 2012 to 2013.

Marilós Balaguer Master of Water Science and Technology at the University of Girona coordinator, stands for the need to train professionals who specialize in solving problems associated with the use and management of water as well as the protection of water resources, an environment that requires an integral, scientific, technological and social approach to solve the problems associated with water. The quality of the researchers, the reputation of the LEQUIA research group, the fact that UdG was rewarded with and International Campus of Excellence and the proximity of the ICRA is of great value to the students.

The University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) is the first Spanish university in quality of scientific production during the period 2008-2012 in the discipline of Animal and Plant Biology, according to the 2013 edition of the “Rankings I-UGR of Spanish universities according to fields and scientific disciplines”, developed by researchers from the research groups Evaluation of Science and Scientific Communication (EC3) and Soft Computing and Intelligent Information Systems (SCI2S) of the University of Granada.
