The Euromediterranean Tourism and Water Campus adds more value whith the support of many important figures and institutions to the project

Información actualizada el 6 October 2011

The solid integration of the UdG in the urban environment of the town of Girona should result in a huge economic and educational impact on the surrounding region, a full involvement of the civil society and a clear commitment to keep and boost the traditional relationship of the town with the surrounding territory, as well as its relations at international level. The e-MTA must become a catalyst of all these purposes. The mayor of Girona, Carles Puigdemont, supports the UdG Campus of International Excellence. He believes the UdG must achieve the goal of the CEI recognition as it would help consolidate the advance of the town and the territory. Also, he has attached special importance to the cross-border value of the proposal.

The Girona City Council has approved an agreement to support e-MTA.

More and more suport
The effort made by several Government bodies (town councils, Generalitat de Catalunya, Diputació de Girona and some ministries of the Spanish central Government) for the development of the Girona campus has been highly intensified with the involvement of many different institutions and public bodies which all contribute to help the UdG and its members become a reference of national and international excellence. This institutional network must be a key factor in the quality and excellence of the Campus of International Excellence, particularly in everything related to knowledge transfer and its positive impact on society.

The cook Joan Roca, the hotelier Martí Sabrià and Josep Corominas, mayor of Olot, among other important figures, have expressed their support to the CEI’s project. Also other institutions like the Generalitat de Catalunya and the chambers of commerce and companies like Agbar or Comexi have joined in. By joining the project, all of them show the support of institutions and the people they represent to the specific project to create and develop the e-MTA Campus.
