Antonia Paniza: “The new tourist services user profile does not fit with the one the law had expected”

Dr. Antonia Paniza, lecturer of Civil Law at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), coordinates the workshop On-line Tourism: the challenge of selling through the Internet, organized jointly by the UIB and Tourism & Law Lawyers. The activity will take place on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, from 9.30am in the auditorium of the building Son Lledó, at the university campus in Palma. New technologies are changing the area of tourism contracting and the number of tourism products and services sales and booking through the Internet are growing significantly. Cultural tourism: Art en route

Cultural tourism is a necessary option, after the sun and beach destinations have shown their limitations to provide added value to the sector. Cultural tourism has a philanthropic base that, in the medium and long term, provides unquestionable mutual benefits. The UdG trains specialists and researchers in the only Master’s in Cultural Tourism offered by a Spanish university.

The UIB monitors environmental radioactivity levels

The University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) works with the Nuclear Safety Council (CSN) detecting any abnormal variations in the level of naturally occurring radioactivity in the environment. This task of monitoring is done by the Environmental Radioactivity Laboratory (LaboRA) at the UIB, a scientific and technical unit in charge of supporting research, development and teaching in the field of environmental radioactivity measurements.
