Researchers at the IMEDEA (CSIC-UIB) participate in a European project for the control and response to maritime accidents in the Mediterranean Sea

The Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (IMEDEA), a joint research center between the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), participates in the European project TOSCA, which aims to improve control and response to maritime accidents in the Mediterranean Sea. The TOSCA project is part of the MED Programme, which includes thirteen partners from four countries of the Mediterranean, and is designed to create an improved system for response to maritime accidents. In the initial phase, the project will help to set up a sustainable network between local authorities, politicians and scientists. Ampliar +

 

Manel Poch: “The UdG has to be strategic with regard to knowledge of tourism and water”

In an interview granted to the Diari de Girona newspaper the scientific coordinator of the Euro-Mediterranean Tourism and Water Campus at the UdG, Manel Poch, reflected on the relationship of the University of Girona with the Campus of International Excellence for Tourism and Water and on the challenges that these two areas bring to the institution.

The University of Girona is organizing her 2nd Masters Fair

The University of Girona is organizing her 2nd Masters Fair on 25 and 26 April. This event will provide first-hand information on the overall masters offer for the 2012-2013 academic year. It will also solve doubts related to registration and admission to University masters, both those that are considered official (regulated fee and state-endorsed certificate) and to those that have certificates issued by the very University having no regulation on fees. The Fair will be held at the Sant Domènec Cloister (Old City Campus) on Wednesday 25th. On Thursday 26th it will be held at the Faculty of Law, in the Montilivi Campus.

IMEDEA (CSIC-UIB) gathers 130 scientists from around the world to discuss the state of the global marine ecosystem

The Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (IMEDEA), a joint research center between the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), organizes the Second International Conference of Young Scientists ICES-PICES «Oceans of Change». 130 researchers from around the world will meet from April 24th to 27th, 2012, in Majorca to discuss and present their contributions about the state of marine ecosystem. The event is sponsored by the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea and the Organization for Marine Science of North Pacific (ICES-PICES). Ampliar +

 

The UIB analyzes on a workshop the challenges of selling on-line tourism services

The University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and Tourism & Law Lawyers organize the workshop Online Tourism: The challenges of selling by Internet, that will be held at the auditorium of the building Son Lledó, at the university campus of Palma, on 24 April from 9.30am to 15pm, approximately. Francisco Javier del Nogal, CEO at Tourism & Law Lawyers, and Dr. Santiago Cavanillas, dean of the Faculty of Law at the UIB will open the workshop. This workshop is part of the R&D&I project «New approach to online tourism services marketing», led as main researcher by Dr. Antonia Paniza, lecturer of Civil Law at the UIB.
