The School of Doctoral Studies of the University of Girona (UdG) has inaugurated the 2012-2013 academic year with a talk by Eudald Carbonell, a Girona native and also the director of the Catalan Institute of Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution and the co-director of the Sierra de Atapuerca project. He was accompanied by the rector of the UdG, Anna M. Geli, and the director of the School of Doctoral Studies, Miquel Solà. Ampliar +

 

The UdG participates in the UNITOUR Fair

The UdG has participated, for the third time, in the international university fair, UNITOUR, in Palma de Mallorca, to promote its undergraduate degree programmes. Visitors to the fair came from 23 secondary schools in the Balearic Islands. Ampliar +

Theses that export knowledge about tourism: Cancún and Lloret, the same model with similar problems

The thesis by Carlos Mario Amaya (supervised by Dr Ramon Palau, Dr Jaume Guía and Dr Santiago Forgas) analyses and compares the sun and beach tourist destinations of Cancún and Lloret. In his objectives, he defines the thesis as an attempt to “design and empirically validate, in sun and beach tourist destinations, a conceptual model consisting of the country’s image, the tourist destination’s image, quality, brand awareness, brand associations, perceived value, satisfaction and loyalty”.
