Researchers at IFISC (CSIC-UIB) develop a model capable of predicting air congestion

Información actualizada el 13 May 2013

Research published in the journal Scientific Reports has studied more than six million commercial flights operated from 300 airports in the United States in 2010

A team of researchers at the Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems (IFISC, CSIC-UIB) has analyzed the factors influencing the development of air traffic delays. The study shows how delays originally generated due to weather or technical conditions can propagate and amplify throughout the day to affect a significant portion of the air network. It also has identified connections, both of passengers and flight crews, as the main cause for propagation of delays. Ampliar +
