New typologies of establishments to cover the demand of a more customized service in campings

Información actualizada el 1 July 2016

The good perspectives for the sector of the camping are promoting new facilities and new tipologies of establishments. Specialization and quality in the service stand out in the sector.

Residential tourism is one of the biggest innovations of the sector. This new formula claims the attention of new tourists, since it allows having a property in a hotel or a camping. This is so since the Catalan administration modified the Law of Tourism in 2015, in order to promote this typology of housing. Therefore, in the condominium, owners can possess a room, a bungalow or a piece of land but the tourism company still manages the services.

The camping ’boutique’

After Glamping, and following new trends in the hotel sector, campings are now also applying for the typology ’boutique’. These campings look for the differentiation and sophistication in the very competitive arena of hosting, on the basis of the singularity in design, the decoration, a good gastronomy and excellent customer relation.

The characteristics of these new establishments are its size, generally small, the privileged location in places of great natural beauty, far from the tourist mass zones, and a unique offer.
