Beatriz Morales: “Tourism needs a place where environmental conditions are good”


Beatriz Morales, director of the Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (IMEDEA), the joint research centre of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), and mainstay of the e-MTA’s Tourism Sustainability Line, explains the research the IMEDEA is currently involved in and the importance of these studies for the development of a sustainable tourism in the Balearic Islands.One of the most emblematic research areas the IMEDEA develops currently is the study of environmental conditions and possible future scenarios into whichthe Beach of Palma area may develop.
