The PhD student in the Department of Chemistry of the University of Girona Alicia Casitas has received one of three prizes for PhD students that the pharmaceutical company Lilly-Spain has awarded on its ninth edition. These prestigious awards recognize the research work of PhD students in the fields of Organic, Pharmaceutical and Analytical Chemistry.

At the awards ceremony, held in September at Lilly’s facilities in Alcobendas (Madrid), Alicia Casitas presented the most important results of her work in research, her contributions to the study of copper organometallic compounds taking part in reactions of high interest in organic and pharmaceutical synthesis.

Alicia Casitas (1985) is about to finish her PhD studies in the Bioinorganic and Supramolecular Chemistry group (QBIS), under the direction of Dr. Xavi Ribas, and the co-direction of Dr. Miguel Costas.
