A unique opportunity to design an environment of collaboration

The Campus of International Excellence is a unique opportunity to create an environment of collaboration that augments the good will and resources of each of the collaborators.

Such an environment requires a sharing of core strategies to shape a new reality: one that acts intentionally to create synergies, to establish common guidelines for action. From a geographic point of view, the CIE is capable of establishing dialog between distinct territories with unique characteristics which they have decided to combine in a common project. From the same perspective, the objectives of the CIE initiative are similar to those sought by the Landscape Observatory of Catalonia, of which I am the director. They are based on proposals made by public entities working for social progress and include remaining attentive to changes in our environment, using rational intervention approaches and achieving better quality of life for citizens,.

Joan Nogué is the director of the Landscape Observatory of Catalonia, and a full professor of Human Geography at the UdG.
