A study of researchers at the UIB will improve contingency plans for hydrocarbons dumped at sea

researchers UIBA group of researchers at the UIB has carried out a study about the accident on the oil platform Deepwater Horizon, located in the Gulf of Mexico, and considerated the greatest ecological disaster originated by an oil spill. The investigation will improve contingency plans for hydrocarbons dumped at sea in Spain. The research, which will be published in four books, has been carried out by a team of researchers at the University of the Balearic Islands directed by Dr. Ramón Bergueiro and in collaboration with Drs. Silvia Moreno and Alfonso Martí, and by Dr. Manuela Díaz Cruz from the National Polytechnical Institute of Mexico.
